Reverse-Engineer IVs from the Stats Screen

The Pokémon IV Judge Calculator estimates which Individual Values (IVs) could produce the stat numbers you see in-game. It’s built for players who want to judge breeding/competitive potential from an actual captured Pokémon’s HP, Attack, Defense, Sp. Atk, Sp. Def, and Speed—without guesswork.

How the Calculator Finds IV Ranges (0–31) for Each Stat

For each stat, the calculator uses the selected Pokémon’s base stats, your level, your EVs, and the chosen nature multiplier. Then it searches all IV values from 0 to 31 and keeps only the IVs that reproduce your observed stat exactly. If more than one IV fits, you get a range; if only one IV fits, you get an exact value.

Nature, EVs, and Hyper Training: Why Results Can Be Ranges

Nature affects all non-HP stats (1.1× or 0.9×), so the same observed numbers can imply different IVs if the nature is mistyped. EVs strongly constrain the solution—entering the wrong EVs usually widens ranges or can make a stat impossible (no valid IV). For Hyper Training, the calculator lets you mark specific stats as hyper trained so they behave like 31 in battle while still showing uncertainty about the true underlying IV.

When “No Valid IV Found” Happens

If the combination of species, level, nature, EVs, and observed stats cannot occur under modern stat formulas, the calculator returns no valid IV instead of forcing an answer. This most commonly happens due to rounding/stat-screen misunderstandings, accidentally swapping nature direction, entering in-battle boosted stats, or using EV totals that are impossible for the game rules. Double-check that your numbers are the base stats shown on the Pokémon screen (not boosted, not from battle stat stages).
